Isreal is not fighting people Lebanon, they are fighting Hezbollah a terrist group who takes up camp in Lebanon. That way Hezbollah can easily attach Isreal. The Lebanonese people do not want Hezbollah they just don't have a strong enough government to get rid of Hezbollah on their own. When Hezbollah leaves Lebanon I believe that is when the fighting will stop.

Have you ever read a newspaper in your life? Do you live in a cave? You are so misinformed it is laughable.
Israel tried in every way possbile live in peace with their neighbors but nothing satisfied the terrorists in Lebanon. Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East and the only ally the US has in the region. They are surrounded on all sides by terrorists.
Israel gave up large tracts of land and bulldozed their own settlements to give the Palestinians their own country. However, this did not satisfy the terrorists. Time and time again they have sent suicide bombers and missiles to kill innocent civilians. Israel even built a wall to try to keep terrorists out, but the raids kept coming and they were on constant terror alert. Now Hamas and Hezbollah, two of the terrorists groups, have kidnapped Isaeli soldiers. They have taken over the government of Lebanon. Israel has had enough. They are now doing what the US should be doing - destroying the headquarters of the terrorists. These are the same terrorists that attacked us on 9-11 and have attacked Britain, India and other countries

Wake up turkey, Israel is fighting a terrorist organization bigger than that bunch of religious hot heads that Osama heads. The Lebanese army, wisely, hasn't really showed up in the fight. Hezbollah kidnaps a couple of Israelis and starts lobbing rockets at Israeli towns--not military sites for the most part, civilians. Meanwhile they park their rocket launchers next to apartment buildings and schools. Israel takes them out with laser-guided "smart bombs" but the targets are still close enough to damage or destroy homes, apartments, and businesses. Hezbollah stands behind civilians and shoots at Israeli civilians and the world cries that when Israel strikes back there are civilians killed. Israel took out a UN observer site this last week. A Canadian observer sent an email to people, including several news agencies, describing how Hezbollah was purposely shoot at Israel using their outpost for cover. Israel shot at the aggressors and blew the UN cover.

Why can't you see the real weasels in this scene are not waving blue and white stars of David. Lebanon was asked to police their borders when the problem began--they wouldn't, so Israel did.

You have several questions here.

1) Israel is not fighting Lebanon; it is fighting terrorists who have taken over southern Lebanon. That said, Hezbollah has so much power in that area, and is elected into the government of Lebanon, and has infiltrated itself into the infrastructure, that it is impossible to distinguish the two. But the US has said in the past that it has no trouble with the government of Lebanon and in fact supports it. But those are empty words if we don't step in and do something to prevent its downfall.
2) The US is not scared of Israel. But a huge and influential lobby in the US -- and no, it's NOT the jewish lobby -- supports the notion of a Biblical homeland bound to a prophecy that says that says a really big conflict in that area will come just before the Kingdom of God. So you have to ask whether this group, which currently controls the government, is in fact getting EXACTLY what it wants.

In my opinion, our unswerving support of just one side of that conflict has cost us hundreds if not thousands of American lives in a conflict that will not end and is none of our business. Let them kill each other and, as the saying goes, let god sort out from among the dead who deserves to go to heaven.

Because Israel is completely surrounded by people who wish to wipe them off the map, including Lebanon and their terrorist political party Hezbollah. Put yourself in the Israelis' shoes for a minute. Once the "weak" stop to kill every last Jew in the world, then maybe Israel will stop fighting back. BTW, I am an atheist.

Why should you support the weak when they are also the wrong.

Strength has very little to do with this battle no matter how much people want to make it a part of the debate.

Also, Israel is not bullying. They are winning. Using disproportionate force is how you win a war.
