Where do you want to have your business?
At home then invest in a web page to conduct business, I have noticed alot of stores on myspace.com, I'm even linked to a jewelry shop there.
Do you want a store?
See if you qualify for small business loans and check into grants to help with this.
Find you a 'silent' partner and start your business that way.
How many pieces do you have to display at present? You would probably want at least 20 pcs complete and be ready to make more.
Check with specialty shops in your area to see if they will let you consign your pieces with them.
I hope that I have helped you some.
Please get in touch with me and let me see your work, you never know until you try.
Good Luck!

well first of all, if they're drawn out, the first thing you need to do is actually make some jewelry...or at least some samples to show around. Second, you need to spread the word to your friends and family and hold a jewelry sale(like a garage sale-with only your jewelry).

First you should go to school or learn how to make make jewelry. My brother's girlfriend makes Jewelry. She's been doing it for years, and she has a great job at a Jewelry shop.
She sells her stuff at the shop now. It took her a couple of years of solid employment to reach that level. At first they allowed her to wear her jewlry, promoting her line. Once it started to sell, they gave her shelf space and priced her jewlry much higher than she had been selling it for. Naturally, the jewelry store gets a cut, I don't know how much, but that's how she makes her money now.

You can start selling them to your friend and family, and that way see how they like them...thay can also recommend you, after you create a new piece, take a picture of it and make a catalog, that way you do not need to spend a lot of money, you will just make a piece when somebody wants it. Save money and then you may be able to open a store or an isle in a mall or something...good luck!

Go see a jeweler, not one of the mall stores a real jeweler, get him to sign a non disclosure statement in exchange for possibly reproducing your originals.
Or go to "The school of American Craftsmen" at the Rochester Institute of Technology. They may see the potential and give you a scholarship.

I've worked for a wholesale jewelry firm for quite some time, and I know a man (my boss, actually) that may be able to help you. His email is egoldenshower@yahoo.com. He also has an answer's profile (Engelbert Goldenshower). I'm sure he'll be glad to help :)
