make as much lessons interactive and hands-on as possible. children learn and associate when they can touch, smell, hear and see. if i were one of your students, i would not want a teacher standing up and reciting in front of a chalkboard.

In an integrated thematic way. Choose a topic and all the science, social studies, writing, reading, art, etc is drawn from that. Math is sometimes hard to work in, but every other subject can be learned well this way. Also teaches children how to learn on their own about things that they are interested in.

The best way to teach children is to figure out the way each child learns best and adapt your teaching style accordingly. It is not always easy, especially if you teach in the classroom with 25+ kids, but I truly think that is best.

By making learning a part of their everyday life, make it meaningful and make it fun.
My son could add in his head when he was 4, by asking him to count change for me, by doing this he was learning multiplication by 5's, 10's, 25's. He was doing the type of thing that was taught in 1st or 2nd grade.
We also worked on statistics, we wrote computer programs to figure out all the different possilbe combinations of coins for $1.
He learned shapes by looking at street signs, learned letters and colors and words the same way.
He learned fractions by helping me cook and by eating pizza and cake.
He never once knew he was learning.
When he went for a ride on a hot air balloon, we went home and learned how it worked. Hot air is lighter then cold air...etc
He went to school and what they did was so dumbed down and boring he got turned off in Kindegarten.

The best way to teach a child is by example. Also, monitor those that are around them and make sure their examples are in good moral standing.

By actively being aware of the way that individual child learns and deliberately teaching them the things they need to know to be successful in this world: proactiveness, respect, self-love, love for others and empathy.

I believe that it is important to allow the students to definitely learn through their learning styles, yet teach them how to work within others (TAKS). Allow lots of communication, hands-on activities, group work as well as independent work. I think most importantly, get to know your students during the year that you have them. Show them that you respect them as the uniquie individuals that they are and in turn, allow them to get to know you. I have found that when I build that relationship with my students, they respond to so many things in my classroom.

For me the best way to teach children is to put your self on their shoes. It is when you can already know what they want and what they need that you can teach them efficiently.

Let their curiosity lead. Don't push them to repeat something you believe is so. Respect their intelligence, judgement and feelings.
