go ahead and find a female but make sure your upfront and honest about your situation. Paperwork should not stop your life, you know the old relationship is over thats all that counts.

Depends on the "issues". If it is a Child Custody issue it might be wise to wait until the Divorce is final before flaunting a new lady friend. And it depends on the State where you are getting your Divorce also. I know it would probably be expensive to get "dating advice" from your Lawyer in the Divorce suit but it might possibly be the best idea. S/he would know about the possible implications of beginning to date before your Divorce is final in your particular State.

In all honesty, people will talk no matter what. You need to make sure your almost-ex wife is aware that you are moving on before someone tells her. Since the divorce is still not settled, could she try to get revenge by stirring up more issues? Better think about all the sides to this before you start a new romance.

if the divorce is pending for a year now then no one will look bad upon you for getting some female company, not even the courts

If you have been separated for more than a year, it is normal to want to start dating. You may want to be prepared for your wife to be upset, anyway. If your divorce is going to be final in just a few weeks, it may be best to wait. However, if this is going to drag on forever, a few low key dates shouldn't hurt anything (unless wife is upset, I guess).

If you are not living under the same roof, no need to wait.
