Israel is brutally bombing Lebanon from all directions, killing innocent women and children, not to mention the billions of dollars damages it had caused. Do you think this is a right answer to kindnapping only 2 Israeli soldiers for the sake of negotiating over the Lebanese prisoners held in Israeli prisons??

Israel isn't just seeking the return of their kidnapped soldiers. They are sick and tired of being harassed and intimidated by Hezbollah hanging out on the border. If Lebanon would not have allowed Hezbollah access to their country and did not allow them to stay there, Israel would not be bombing Lebanon.

Israel's complaint isn't with Lebanon persay, it's with the group Lebanon chooses to associate with. However, Hezbollah made a point of "hiding" within the populated areas, Israel wants to take out Hezbollah and continues to do their best to keep civilian casualties to a minimum. They're not cold-hearted killers.

Why is anyone so surprised that Israel has reacted in this manner? They have never been the kind to negotiate...they have always had a very strong attitude of "We will not be abused" and they use the tools at their disposal to protect and defend themselves. They are surrounded by their enemies, so they have to have such an attitude or risk getting run over all the time.

Let's look at this in a more realistic way.

A) The hezbollah, and most other fanatical muslim organizations, want Israel wiped off the face of the earth. Don't believe it? Read the headlines - see what the leader of Iran has said in recent weeks.

B) There is no middle ground that can be agreed upon. Ther terrorist organizations of the world will not stop attacking Israel until they have defeated Israel. A cease fire would only allow hizbollah time to regroup and re-arm themselves.

C) The hibollah militants intentionally hide behind civilians so that the Israelis will cause harm to the civilians if they bomb or attack, and then this causes bad press for the Israelis.

SO - Yes, it is unfortunate that innocent peoploe have to die, but it is a necessary evil since the yellow bellied enemy hides in populated areas.

It's more than just 2 soldiers - its been going on for a long time. I think its about time that Israel stand up and DEFEAT the enemy UTTERLY and COMPLETELY.

Well,
It goes way into history. And, by the way...all bombing is brutal! =]
After the holocaust, rich jews bought land in palestine, joined together, and pushed the palestinians out of their own country by killing thousands. They were able to take control because in exchange for free oil, the US would form an alliance with the country. The US helped them, and the country named itself Israel. Now, Hezbollah is a non-terrorist organization. They have clearly stated that the US is not the enemy. They are the first group to ever get the Israelite army to retreat in a battle. They are fighting because Hezbollah (which means "party of God'") does not recognize Israel as a country. Hezbollah believes that the land belongs to Palestine. Now, Israel is bombing Lebanon only because the Hezbollah headquarters are there. All of the middle east believes that Israel is wrong (which they are, not to mention thieves.) Israel killed THOUSANDS of people when they took over palestine. And now..that Hezbollah has only taken two soldiers hostage, its world war 3. Yes, I am aware that all countries were formed by taking over. But 58 years ago when Israel (whom at that point didn't have a name) invaded palestine, it violated an armistice among the UN which clearly stated that all borders were recognized, meaning no country could be formed.
Israel has no right.
whatsoever.

I think a human life is priceless so billions of dollars of damages means nothing. I think one country taking another countries soldiers is an act of war. I think negotiating with kidnappers for criminals is ignorant. I think it is hard for anyone to side with Lebanon and Hezbollah. Last time I checked Israel is targeting while Hezbollah and Lebanon are randomly sending rockets into preschools and hospitals. Are innocent people in the crossfire? Unfortunately yes, but on both sides. War is not good, but a world where kidnappers are given their ransoms so they don't send over 1500 missiles randomly into civilian areas is even worse.

I think people believe that if Hezbollah gained Israel’s territory that they would be happy and all the terrorist conflict would end there. I know this is not the case. Terrorist Muslims hide behind a cloak of religion whilst they seek to gain ultimate world power. The Koran states that Allah cannot return until the world is cleansed of all infidels (anyone who does not believe in Allah). You start to get a understanding of why they hate the rest of the non-Muslim world when you read the tenants in the Koran and the Hadiths.I read more militant rhetoric in the Koran and Hadiths than I ever heard or read in my eight years active duty in the Army. These Muslim holy books call for them to do all that you have seen the terrorists doing in the last 50 years. It should not be a surprise to anyone that they are doing what they’re bible and Muslim clerics tell them to.Isreal is just a speed bump and the rest of the world is the mission. If you don’t believe that the average Muslim agrees with the terrorist’s actions then explain to me why they were dancing in the streets after 9/11.Good day to all of you, and may our future generations never have to endure the scourge of religious tyranny in the future

The hamas who came to power in Palestine did not even recognise Israel as a state. Iran is on record quoting to wipe out Israel from world map. Some other Arab country said that Israel is a country filled with just immigrants from several European countries. And Lebanon is one with the Arab world and killed some Israeli soldiers and took 2 soldiers as prisoners of war. And the Iranian and the Arab world hailed the Lebanese as heroes for their above action. Thus the Arab world provided all the reasons for Israrel to attack Lebanon. Coming to bombing civilians in Southern Lebanon, Israrel has fore warned. that it will bombard that area as it is from that area ( which is nearer to Israel) that hamas was sending rockets into Israel. As Israel is a small country and as it is always preoccupied with its survival its attacks are preemptive attaacks to ensure that there is no unity among the enemies.of Israel.

ONLY 2? How many does it take?

ONE would be enough for this to happen in my opinion! Yes, if Israel shows ANY sign of weakness it will be EXPLOITED. Israel MUST BE AGGRESSIVE with the people in the Mid-East who would Destroy her. And you know they would, given the chance to do so! Hezbollah is the "one" killing the innocent women and children by continuing to bombard Israel with rockets. All they have to do is back far enough away that Israel will no long be hit, and the war will STOP. YOU KNOW THIS!

But they won't because they only want one thing. Pain for Israeli's and they don't care about the suffering they bring on their own side!

Actually, in all reality, Israel has never possessed all the land promised by God in the Bible. They should completly bomb out not only Lebanon but also Syria and Eygpt and then Establish the Enlarged land of Israel which per the bible will become the land of Christians. All jews will convert to Chistianity and they will start following their Savior Jesus.
Even our president supports this view held by Evnagelical Christians who are supporters of the Republican Party and Israel.
Go Isreal

No. I think Israel definitely overreacted, but also the tensions with Hezbollah has been brewing long before this particular incident so both sides are equally responsible for instigating it.

The true victims in all this are those Lebanese civilians caught in the crossfire that had nothing to do with any of this. I truly feel sorry for anyone who gets caught up in a war due to political circumstances beyond their control when they're just regular working people trying to live their lives. Sad indeed.

No, absolutely not. Israel is not a victim in this situation. Israel has lost it's nerve and is shooting and asking questions later. This is indiscriminately killing of civilian and that should stop immediately. Again, Israel is not a victim anymore than the Palestinians or the Lebanese.
For example, targeted assassinations are an indisputable crime against humanity. Of Course, so is suicide bombings, but one crime does not justify another crime. Someone has to bow to a higher power in this situation.
In my opinion, it could be either side and that would be appropriate. So, wiser heads must find a way to stop the killing and find the substance of peace.
