I'm no expert but I've often heard it said it is not uncommon to take anywhere up to a year to conceive naturally. Before pursuing fertility drugs I'd make sure you firmly understand a women's natural cycle and when she is most fertile.
Either way though, I wish you the very best of luck!

Well I think it's a year but it's not quiet as simple as going "hey doc I need some drugs to move this along". They have to test you and your partner to see what the problem is first. Then if they think it's the best course of action they will prescribe fertility drugs.

It's pretty commonly held that after one year of "trying" you would be considered infertile, but that's really not always the case. I conceived after 18 months with no intervention, and I know a few other people who did after several years. They never did find out what took so long. I guess it's just a matter of whether or not you're "in a hurry" due to the biological clock or have some time to wait it out and see what happens.

A lot depends on age, if your under 30 and have been trying for 1-2 years you probable need to see a fertility specialist. If your over 30 and have been trying for a year, see a specialist.

after you have tried for a year actively get a gynecological checkup and tell him you have been actively trying to conceive..chart your cycles test for ovulation etc...Then ask your gynecologist to prescribe clomid or have yousee a fertility specialist...however, most fertility dr's won't help you unless you are married and have a stable home life...Good luck
