I am 11 weeks and am the same as you, I was almost hospitalised this week as I hadn't kept any food down for 4 days and I was fainting. My doctor advised that even if I couldn't keep any food down I had to have some glucose or it could hurt me and the baby. He recommended I drink plenty of Staminade (same as Gatorade).

My husband has to cook all his own meat (outside on the BBQ) as I can't stand the smell.

Make sure you take a good pregnancy vitamin and eat anything you can keep down, it's better than nothing, trust me.

Hopefully you (and me) will start feeling better around 12 or 14 weeks along, although some poor women go through this for the full 9 months. If after the first trimester this continues, see your doctor as your baby's nutritional needs increase dramatically at this time and lack of nourishment could lead to problems.

I had the same thing. Actually lost weight the first 3 months of pregnancy. Could never handle or smell bacon, and raw meat.. forget it - turned my stomach big time. After about 4 months I was okay with certain foods but it took me almost 8 years after birth to be able to eat a hamburger because the raw burger meat had turned my stomach so bad. Probably not what you want to hear.

Iknow the feeling. Every second weekend my husband and i go out, and we go to this great steak house...i am pregnant, and can not eat steak.....makes me gag. Cooking hamburger is an issue for me too. It is just a pregnancy thing.....wait a few more weeks, and you may find that it will lighten up, or dissapear all together. But i guarentee you the day you give birth, your going to want a big juicy steak with a side of spaghetti with huge meatballs!!! good luck...it wont last forever... and it doesnt mean it is a girl either. This pregnancy was so different from my last two ( boys) and i found out i am having another boy!!!!

Not every pregnancy is the same, you sound normal to me. Your body goes through so many hormone changes, and your taste changes as well. It should pass in a few weeks. With my pregnancy I was the same way I could not even look at some things it would cause me to feel nauseated. I managed a restaurant so it was very hard, but I kept some crackers with me and some juice, I found that it worked well, and it only lasted for about a month and a half.

Don't worry about it. Your body is going through a lot of hormonal changes right now. There is an old wive's tale that since you craved food with your son, if you don't like food, it means you're carrying a girl. Like I said, it's an old wive's tale. But hang on a little longer. The first trimester is when your body goes goofy. Things usually settle down in the second trimester, and you're almost there.

Yes, Wendy is probably right. Doctors have found that women have more problems with nausea when they are pregnant with girls. It usually goes away after a couple of months. Just focus on all those cute baby girl clothes you can buy and the fact that you won't be gaining too much weight with this pregnancy.

This will pass, i'm sure. When I was with child my second time around, it was totally different that the first. Just try to eat less meat and more fruit until this passes maybe. Saltiine crackers with Sprite/Seven-up will help you maybe until you get pass your 3-4 month. I hope you feel better soon!! Good Luck!!

I had a little girl 7 months ago and I couldn't even be around meat for the entire pregnancy. Also, I couldn't touch chinese food, which is my favorite. With my first child, I could eat everything!

well first off, what exactly is your question... second, like the other have said, it is entirely normal to have nausea and or total lack of an appetite during pregnancy... however, you must maintain a sufficient caloric intake as well as a complete diet of vitamins and minerals...the health of your baby depends on it! if u cannot stomach solid foods for now, use a blender to blend fruits and protein powders (available at wal-mart, gnc, online, etc) which will give you plenty of liquid nutrients and calories. also take a multi-vitamin (a liquid multi vitamin works best) like gnc's liquid vitamin: http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2133506&cp=2167069.2325071.2108497.2108481&parentPage=family ... finally, if u continue to not eat (or keep them down) and u start to lose weight (more than 5-10% of your body weight)u will need to go and see your doctor!
