Recently I placed an ad on Postaroo for my dreamsicle collection. On a daily basis I am getting offers of people wanting to purchase the entire collection, through a second party check that is way over the asking price and then send them the difference. Oh and get this, they claim they'll even pick up the merchandise too. They are all yahoo email adresses, they have no profile in the system and I'm sort of clueless how to stop these people from doing this. I'm not dumb enough to fall for it, but I'd hate to see someone like my grandma, with her heart of gold, trying to do the "nice" thing, earn a little money, and then end up in handcuffs for cashing a stolen check or something. Is there anything that can be done? The email addresses are: rickythomas009@yahoo.com, reyesbruce101@yahoo.com, james_simmon001@yahoo.com and bishoppaulheinzwilhelm@yahoo.com. Please help!

Hi I'm Garry,
I've been through what you are talking about here and my yahoo friend I have only one thing to say..
No Money! No Honey.
(1) Do not accept checks of any kind
(2) Only accept a bank deposit and don't give or send goods till you see the money in your account.
(3) They have all your details so there is no way you can get away with robbing them.
Once again ONLY accept bank deposits and don't worry about your bank details they can't rob you via that, give them account # BSB # and full name of the account and only accept BANK DEPOSITS!
I know of alot of people that have been robed though I haven't fallen as I am way to smart to send Good's or even had over goods for exchange for a check..
That is what I mean by >> No Money! No Honey!
Email him and say the exact words.. and demand a deposit and that is the only form of payment you accept or on the other hand Pay pal are just as good but you need to join bla bla bla. but they are secure..
Simply wishing you the best of luck,
Garry

Report all these addresses to abuse at yahoo.com MAke sure that you include the entire email headers along with the actual email in the reports. At the least Yahoo will probably shut down their accounts.

i hate to discourage you.... but it is prolly a lost cause. i too uncovered a huge scam. i went from my local law enforcement agency, all the way to the FBI. more than likely these people are in a different country, and basically can not be touched. or at least that was my experience

THIS KINDA THING HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS, I WORK AT A CHECK CASHING PLACE AND THE CON ARTISTS ARE BASICALLY UNTOUCHABLE BECAUSE MOST OF THEM ARE OUT OF THE COUNTRY. WE ALSO PROVIDE MONEY GRAM SERVICES, AND WE HAVE TO ASK EVERY PERSON THAT SENDS LARGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY IF THEY KNOW THE PERSON THEY ARE SENDING IT TO. I CANT COUNT HOW MANY PEOPLE FALL FOR THIS, AND I CANT REMEMBER HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ARRESTED FOR IT.

Please report this the the FBI immediately. This is probably members of a ring that do this. It is common and needs to be stopped. The only way for that to happen is to report them A.S.A.P.

Just tell them that you will only accept a Paypal payment, and that you will only ship the goods when it has cleared. Tell them they must be "verified" paypal users. They will leave you alone then.
