Wouldn't you rather be 42 and living a calm life than being with someone who's unstable?
42 is only old if you think it is. Take stock of how you're looking these days. Maybe all you need is a new updated look and a positive attitude. Take an evening class at your local college, there's always men there. But for goodness sake....don't ever settle.

42 is not old. I am sure that you will find someone that has your best interests at heart. Take your time and maybe even get into a hobby you like-or go back to school and find an interest there. You never know, you might just find someone that likes the same things that you do! Take good care of yourself girl! I am sure you will be just fine!

For starters 42 is not old!!!!!
Iyala Vanzant wrote in one of her books that this is called 'The Mean Time". OK so we don't have a man, what are we supposed to do In 'THE MEAN TIME'? Well Iyala said that we should take this time and love ourselves, and if we do that it gives others a chance to love us.
I keep saying 'we' and 'us' because I just got out of an abusive relationship too
Let me share with you what one of my buddies sent me:
"DON'T BE AFRAID TO BE ALONE. WHEN YOU'RE NOT LOOKING FOR A MAN THE RIGHT ONE WILL COME ALONG AND SWEEP YOU OFF YOUR FEET."

YOU ARE NOT OLD. and more importantly--you deserve to be loved. If you have left this abusive relationship,---Congratulations. Live your life, seriously. Practically everyone is struggling to find the right person who'll love them. Patience is key and it's the hardest thing in the world to maintain, especially in the area of love.
Keep smiling and RESPECT YOURSELF--you deserved to be respected by a man who's willing to be your faithful and supportive companion. Try as hard as you can to move on and be content. NEVER GIVE UP.
