You can try creating an Owner account on the desktop, but that might now work.

I am assuming you are logged into an administrative account..

Could the folder be encrypted with a password?

Your exterior hardcontinual ought to educate as an icon on your reveal. merely drag and drop each and every thing you choose on thatcontinual. in case you choose to sparkling area on your gadget's hardcontinual then do not forget to delete besides the reality that you flow onto the Lacie when you've checked that it has transferred effectively. in case you choose to commence putting stuff rapidly on the Lacie then merely specify it because the vacation spot whenever you save something. you've a huge volume of potential because it stands and that i'm uncertain why you choose to flow stuff onto the Lacie, except that is for motives of backup, it really is clearly a sturdy concept. that is a shame you aren't any further on a Mac, as you need to then have, on Leopard, the bright Time gadget facility which will recommend under no circumstances dropping something ever back. in case you do not imagine you're a lot sturdy at pcs make your next one a Mac - they're more straightforward, smarter, and cooler than a computing gadget, and far better accessible to apply. Vista is the position Mac develop into about ten years in the past.

It sounds like you have a machine that's got several users on it... go to the control panel and select "user options." From there you may be able to access the files you want - that is if you are the system manager and know the password, if one is there. If you are the system administrator... it ought to be easy enough.
