The real reason they're hated, from what I've learned, is because they've learned and applied the key to success and security. They seem to have what so many others don't and this makes them easy targets.
Example: A poor Jewish man gets married and raises a small family. No matter else happens in his life he makes sure his kids get the best education possible to have a better life than he did. This means giving up some of the comforts other people might crave. Like big screen TVs or season tickets.
As each generation becomes a little better off they continue to make sure, no matter what, that their next generation will be better off than them.
Example Two: A man from Georgia gets married and has a few kids. It is highly more like that he will go for instant gratification, the big new truck, the big screen TV, the four car garage.
As he comes to realize he can't pay his bills and there's no way in hell his kids are gonna get life any better he refuses to understand why, instead blaming the 'Damn Jews' who own everything and get all the breaks.
Jews are hated because they've learned what most other people won't learn.

About the financing and money lending. The old testament bars the act of usury, lending money at interest. In medieval times the Templar Knights were given a dispensation to lend money at interest to finance the Crusades, by the Pope. In a few decades many of the nations in Europe and more important the Church owed them what was huge amount of money for the time. Their dispensation was then taken away and they were persecuted much like the Jews instead of being able to collect their debts. Jews were given permission to do the same thing, and of course they prospered. When nations became too indebted they did the same thing: Persecuted the Jews rather than repay the debt. Since there was only money made from metal, gold silver brass coins etc. the jewelry business was a natural offshoot. Don't know if the similarity of names means anything.

It started with the ancient Greeks who were upset that the Jews wouldn't worship their Pantheon of Gods and has been taken up by demagogues ever since.
Medieval hatred of Jews was aided by the fact that Jews weren't allowed to own land. Since Jews knew how to read and write (which was rare at the time) from studying the Torah, money lending became an alternative to farming. No one likes creditor or tax collector, etc.
Throw in a few made up stories about using blood of Christian children in prayer rituals and you can lead a mob to do anything you want.
JZ: Jews are no more or less backstabby, rude, arrogant, etc than anyone else. You disregard the 'good ones' who don't conform to you stereotype and confirm you stereotype when you encounter the 'bad ones'. Nice job Archie Bunker.

it boils down to envy.
according to the bible, the jews are the 'chosen people', and much like todays liberals envy the rich conservatives, all other peoples envied the 'chosen' jews. as a result, they were forced from place to place, rarely having a homeland. this is how their culture as we know it today came about.
we all know the stereotypical jew is cheap, usually deals in money, gold, or jewels, and usually well educated.
these are all things that are portable. meaning you can pickup and move across the world, and will still be able to maintain a standard of living. jewels and gold are quite valuable in small amounts, so the weath they accumulated through their work was easily concealed and moved in the form of gold and diamonds.
their frugality came from an uncertain future and never knowing where they may have to go or what they may have to do to survive, so they were always cautious with money.
knowledge could never be taken away by another. that is why education is so important in the jewish culture and that is another reason they are so wealthy.
basically, the world's envy of jews caused them to adopt a lifestyle that engendered even more envy and as a result they are not liked and not welcome by many.

The Bible predicts this. The Jews are God's "chosen people". In the Bible when the Jewish people followed God, they were successful in all ways, when they didn't obey they were overthrown and their lands were taken over and they became slaves to the country that overthrew them. This goes on for thousands of years and finally they re-claim their land in the 6-day war in 1967. Now they continue to struggle to keep their land that was given to them by God. The same neighbors that have always hated them are still there, and are still determined to destroy them and take their land. The struggle is ages old but the Israeli's will win in the end, however there will be much bloodshed to come before that happens.
Psalms 83 in the Bible tells about this and predicts the struggle.

My answer to this can be given for any question regarding any group of people. Ignorance and fear. People as a whole fear what they do not know or understand. The first line of defense to shield from the unknown is to shut out and unfortunately people would rather shut out and entire group of people rather than getting to know what they are all about. I do not hate any one group for their differences but I do try to learn about them. If there is a group of Jewish people and they are praying then I would rather ask them what the prayer is all about then shun them because I do not understand. I truly believe that the key to having a civilized world is through tolerance. I believe that if we as a whole learn and accept that people all over the world and in our own countries are going to be different and accept that then maybe just maybe we will see the end to all the wars. But I know that is just my opinion. Just remember ignorance breeds hate. Dont be a part of the problem.

There is a lot of hatred against different groups for completely ridiculous and untestable reasons. Just because somebody doesn't share my religious beliefs or eat the same food that I do doesn't mean they are less than or inferior than I am ... I think diversity is a good thing. Unfortunately, for a number of powerful people, it isn't, or so it seems.

The Jewish people have always been known as GODS chosen people, and that just doesn't sit well with some folk. I think we will be judged on the way we treat Jews...period

It's because they are arrogant, racist, greedy, back-stabbing, selfish, rude, obnoxious assholes. That's not racism - it is just my experience.
