I'd have to say Iron Man. It kills me to admit it, because I've been a transformers nut ever since I first saw the show when I was 4. Heck, I even have an Autobot insignia tatooed on my left arm. Iron man doesn't have any tactical advantage at all over prime. Iron man is human, and prime is cybertronian, a living machine whose innerworkings are far more complex than any technology invented here on earth. So, just why do I give the victory to iron man? The reason is this, Prime's no killer. He values human life so much so, that he would never be able to finish off Iron Man, and tony would eventually find a way to finish him.

I have to go with Optimus Prime. Iron man is the best of human technology. He is very powerful. Optimus is an android. As such he can take more damage without worry about damaging a soft and more fragile human body. Plus Optimus just seems more powerful. taking on other giant robots. Iron man's normal opponent is a average size human. I've seen iron cut loose and give his all. I've never seen Optimus go all out yet he seems to be able to best all of his opponents.

Optimus Prime. He has the advantage of being completely mechanical. So he doesn't feel pain or weakness. Plus he's like 5 times the size of Iron Man. He could just step on him!

You sir, are probably a bigger dork for asking this than I am for answering!
1st off, prime is NOT an android. R2D2 was an android. Prime is a sentient machine, exact opposeite of an android. remember, when prime died, the rest of the autobots were sad. they show emotion.
As for the question at hand. Lets look at it historically 1st:
Prime has been fighting for MILLIONS of years. Tony Stark is in his late 30s.
Next, Technology:
the quentisans (sp) created the 1st transformers, A race far superior than humans, and the transformers have been "evolving" ever since. Look at what they were a few million years ago on cybertron, to their earth days, both pre and post prime's death, and after his rebirth (remember, he didnt really die, infact, he basically came back from the "grave" lets see stark do that!) and howadvanced they are in the later Transformer animes.
Stark is a human, flawd, with flawd human technology, and will never live past 200.
Yeah. Im sure prime will stand his own as he has forever.

i do like optimus prime better, but he is slow compared to ironman. ironman is pretty stuff but i bet that hes nothing against optimus primes big guns (as big as ironman himself),supposing optimus prime got a shot

prime whens he got the matrix of leadership which heal him and prevent him from dying in not stolen from him he got that emp which is superior than the human type.
