stress

First of all pregnancy tests are pretty darn accurate. It is not at all unusual to be last or even occasionally skip a period, especialy if you are on birth control.

I had a very regular cycle, every 28 days like clockwork but a couple of times I was late and once even skipped a period. The doctor said this was not at all unusual.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you skip another period. It is very unlikely you are pregnant since the tests these days can detect a pregnancy even if you are only a couple of days late.

Stress plays a big part. Were you nervous that you might get pregnant, job interview, family change. Anything could make you late. 7 days is not a big deal. Only a few test out there will give correct results this early. Wait another week and check again.

And stop worrying...you cant change what already happened and you may be stressing for no reason.

It could be stress.... but it could also be that you aren't far enough along for the test to turn positive. If you haven't started in a few more days, take another test.

I have been late with my period many times and wondered if I could be pregnant. Sometimes the nerviousness that you feel in worrying about whether you're pregnant or not causes you to not start.

If you want to be pregnant, I hope you are. But if you don't want to be, I hope that the stick stays clear!

Good luck.

It could be to early to tell. You might want to wait another week. Sometimes the home pregnancy test are wrong. The best thing to do is go to your OBGYN and get a blood test because they are more accurate. If your not pregnant it could be stress that is making you late. But wait at least another week or so before you test again.
Good Luck,

Agreed, 7 days is not that late really. I'm on birth control and mine varies if I'm travelling, sick, or stressed out. Also if you exercise excessively you can stop your period all together.
If you can wait until it's been a month, I'd wait & see if it comes. If not, definitely go to your doc for a more accurate test. My doc had to give me one when I had a kidney stone in case it was an ectopic pregnancy, and even though I was pretty sure I was not pregnant he was really nice & cool about it.

Get a massage and eat your favorite food. If your period still does a no-show, call your doctor and schedule a blood test. Most clinics will do this for a small fee if you don't have insurance. (Planned Parenthood will only do it after 2 negative tests AT their facilities.)
There are far more false negatives than false positives on pregnancy tests.

Don't be so sure. My tests came up negative and I was 3 weeks late....only after another couple weeks did it show up positive.
