used to hate Japan because of what they did to China and Asia in general.I hated there culture because it was a copied modified form of Chinese culture which they did not deserve to have!I also hated how much arrogance Japanese people had!My grandpa was in the Bataan death march he escaped from the POW CAMP later on.

I have been calling a few kids Japs for a while because they were jerks towatds me but not all Japanese people are jerks.I have found out that my great great great great parents were Japanese a while ago. There last name was Asura(Ursula) I believe!I couldn't accept the fact that I was being racist to people that share the same background as I! I dont know what to do?I cannot accept this fact that I am part Japanese and that I was being racist towards Japanese.Even in Social studies class I made a China project showing how original and better the Chinese culture was to Japanese (Copied culture).People must accept that Japan is a variant of Chinese culture though!

So....You only felt guilty and wished to apologize after you realized that you were part Japanese, hahahahaha....God really does have a sense of humor that's so funny and you deserve it for being such a fool. Who is culturally superior to who? You should apologize because In the end people are just people regardless of race, culture, ethnicity or nationality. I hope that you realize that one day and only when you do should you apologize. Don't apologize because you feel guilty, do it because you want to, because it's the right thing to do, so why don't you take some time to get to know and appreciate your Japanese heritage. Always be the bigger person, forget about the idiots who are teasing you.

Racism is always wrong. I doubt there is any race or any nationality that is totally pure . It sometimes amazes me at the similarities I observe among the races esp when I see someone looking just like...except are a different race. Perhaps you should think that before we are a nationality, before we are German,Japanese, Chinese or American we are first Human Beings created in the image of God. I don't think its totally necessary to apologize but stop insulting the Japanese kids in school. Those kids had nothing to do with the atrocities the then(ages ago) Japanese committed against the Chinese people and for you to carry a grudge now is a waste of your energy.Perhaps you should pray for guidance and to have God take away the darkness out of your spirit. Life is growth and looking toward the future and definitely getting stuck in bad feelings about things that happened way in the past. Be grateful your grandparents survived and draw on their strength to help you overcome this inner conflict. Have a happy life!

I understand the way you think and I feel sorry for that the fact Japan soldiors did to you grampa and the ppl.
However, why you call only those Japanese as racist? That time was warfare, everybody in the world had been going crazy.
Even after WW2, many advanced nations kills many local civilians in Asia and Mid East. You know what nation I mean.

You are living in 21 century.
If you have really Japanese blood. Think about. Is Japan really copied of Chinese culture? and just modified?
If so, today China is becoming rich nation, they must overtake Japan soon. But the world ,who knows real China, doesn't think it will happen.
Because most intelligent Chinese students who study abroad never comeback to China.
Japanese did hard working and study abroad, and came back to Japan to build new Japan again.

You don't need to accept the fact, your roots.
However, everybody has to live their own life. Your future is in your hand.
You can live both POSITIVE and NEGATIVE life. Either one you can choose.

If you choose positive life, I hope you don't call Japs anymore.
If you wanna choose negative life, you can continue to call them like that. In my opinion, the words, jerks, japs, calling racist, are negative words.
But please don't USE Japanese hich tech things as well, such as SONY Erricson, Toshiba, SANYO, Panasonic, etc.
Its unfair you use Japanese things even you continue to insult Japan.

Yes. there is no Japanese race.
People call themselves as Japanese people. Not Japanese race. Blood mixture made today's sophisticated people up.

Whats done is done.. Move on. Understand that the Japanese like many Asian cultures are very proud and somewhat homophobic. My best friend who is part Japanese lived half his life in Japan and everyone used to shy away from him because they knew he was only part Japanese. In every culture, you will find people who are unaccepting but at the same time, you will fine people who are just the opposite. I went to college with a bunch of Japanese students who were very polite and open minded.

If people are mean and cruel to you, it's instinctive and natural to feel and act hostile towards them. It's what you do from now on, that makes more of a difference. As you grow and understand and come to terms with who you are, dealing with this will become easier

So they were jerks to you. You called them a derogatory name. They probably thought "*uck him" and called it a day. You however still feel guilty because racial slurs are just wrong. They are ignorant comments that uneducated people use because they can't think of anything else to say. I don't know much about Chinese/Japanese relations, but my thoughts are that you've got some rediscovering to do. There is Japanese blood in your veins my friend. Hating yourself by hating it will only hurt you. Just like your comments.

one shouldn't hold animosity towards japanese people today because of what happened many generations ago.i think you should stick with regular cuss words instead of slang terms because someone could take it more personal if you offended their ethnicity/culture.sincerely apologize to the people you offended and explain why you felt the way you did because you weren't aware of your ancestry but now that you know, you're more tolerant & understanding of the japanese and hope that they'll understand too.

japanese characters do resemble chinese characters a lot and their culture isn't as original but i think japanese today, are original and creative when it comes to developing technology such as animation/video games & various electronics, designed some appealing cars, novelty toys and a crazy fashion sense.it doesn't make them better because each has their own uniqueness.

perhaps you should talk to a counseller to help resolve your feelings about being part Japanese. You are expressing rather unreasonable dislike for the culture (I mean, who cares if it copies China? That's no reason to hate them.)

You need to find a way to accept yourself, then you can accept other people.

You said it, you are half Japanese why not give a little bit respect .Hating them is like you are hating part of your self.Sometimes we need to accept the things we don't like in order to have a peaceful mind,i know it's not that easy, but hey it's worth it.

You shouldn't hate or dislike anyone for any reason! You see my color right? I should hate someone but I can't.

I realized that if you can control my "emotions" or the way I feel then you pretty much got me under your finger. I refuse to give anyone that power. Love everyone. Then the power belongs to you. We are all hated for one reason or another but it is the strongest individual that can stand and say I love you anyway, inspite of how you feel toward me!

You have a right to be offended and defend yourself. But I don't think bringing race into the equation was the best idea. So yes, apologize for using the term/slur but you don't need to necessarily apologize for fighting back for yourself (if that's what you did).
