I have a kazillion gel pens, and even though you can clearly see there is plenty of ink in them, they refuse to write, or, they are hit & miss. i've tried a variety of means, such as tapping them on the table, cleaning the tip with rubbing alcohol, water - but alas, no luck. i tried heating the tip once, but that just melted it! anyone have any ideas? i'm desperate! thanks!

Well, my friend, I do not have an answer for you. But, I do have a suggestion for you. I have wasted countless dollars on colored/metallic gel pens that never worked. I have discovered that there are only two brands I trust. Gellyroll and Pilot. Those are the only two gel pens I will use. They never fail me. I hate ballpoint pens. The don't write nice and they smell funny. I am an artist. So, I like the way gel pens glide like paint across the page. Good Luck!

it all comes to brand.

there are a lot of brands of gel pen here and those cheap brands they sell usually don't work even though only a quarter of the ink have been used.

go buy a brand three times as much as those you usually buy. it's expensive but at least you'll be able to use it to the very last drop of your ink.

take the pen apart and blow into the end of the gel pen, where they put the gel in. that will make it flow towards the tip making them write.
