I want to save my Word doc on a CD-RW, but when I do that its marked as read only. How can I change that?

It's not password protected or anything like that. I simply save it on my desktop, write it to my CD-RW, open it and it reads READ-ONLY.

Is it encrytped or password protected? If it is encrypted, Microsoft Word has the worst encryption implementation. Simply 'Save As' the document and save it under a different name

Go to tools, unprotect document, and type in the password.

try right-clicking it and choosing properties. From there uncheck the box at the bottom that says 'read-only'. It should allow you to do that.
