You need to wash the blood off your hands George

This is a great question, and I've enjoyed reading the answers. If I worked at a company, I would not create a shameful situation for my supervisors by refusing to shake the President's hand if I found myself right in front of him, and I for the same reason I would not say anything rude like I am thinking right now. But, having said that, I would certainly not step forward and put myself in a position to have to shake his hand if I could avoid it. I feel no respect for the man, only for the Office of the Presidency. I wouldn't walk across the street to go out of my way to see him, and I don't think I'd bother telling him my opinions because I don't believe he is respectful of the opinions of others and does not take wise counsel to heart. That's why we're in all the messes we're in.

George Bush would never shake the hand of a democrat or anyone else that he deems to be un-American. His staff would only ask those who agree with his policies be allowed to even look upon his graven image. Have you ever, one time that I could remember, seen anyone in one of those situations ever say anything that King George would not want to hear in his presence? No, I would not shake the hand of Satan, I would not shake his hand---I wouldn't be able to.

Whether or not you agree with him and his policies, he is STILL the duly elected leader of his country.

While I did not and would not vote for him, I would none the less shake his hand and be polite.

You may not like the man, but you must respect the office. To that end, I would say, "It's an honor to meet you."

There are so few other countries that enjoy what we do.

Uggh, while I dislike many of Bush's policy, I still have respect for the office of the president and what it represents, so I would likely make nice and shake his hand, thank him for coming to our school.

I know, boring and all that, but think about it...what would you really, REALLY do, knowing that your actions may affect your standing at work, as well as the fact there are Secret Service guys all around.

Hard to believe the level of hatred some of these redneck liberals have on here. I would say "Its my honor to meet you Mr President". I doubt GW would knowingly shake the hand of a liberal unless there was something that he could quickly disinfect it with.

I would shake his hand and then say. I always wanted to see a real weapon of mass destruction as turned his hand over for a closer look.

Thank you Mr. President for truly effing up the country and proving that even the mentally defective can rise to the highest office in the land.

Yes, I would. Mr. President, I'm honored to meet you. Thank you for doing a wonderful job. The job that those spineless Democrats don't have the stomach for. Please say 'hello' to Mrs. Bush and Prime Minister Blair for me. May God bless you and all of America.

I would shake it and suggest that he veto more senseless Congressional spending which is the real cause of budget deficits we are experiencing. Amazing how most people seem to ignore that fact.
