what song can be played as a solo piece on the bass guitar?

I play bass and for an audition I was asked to play a song solo
I could come up with a bass solo but I wonder if anyone knew a song that would work. I think blister in the Sun works, I think 'linus and lucy' by Vince gribauldi works but I am not sure I want to steal Stu's bit

The Cure's "The Lovecats" has awesome bass, and a mini-solo. It's a simple song though, and even though the bass is a very important part to the song, it gets repetitive.

Maybe The Red Hot Chili Pepper's "Around the World" or another song by them with a very active bassline by Flea.

I bet the songs people mentioned by Frank Zappa and The Who are great, but I'm not familiar with those particular songs.

I don't know what kind of audition this is, but you maybe you can play them multiple things, and even some of your own stuff to show your capabilities.

Learn Apostrophe by Frank Zappa. Jack Bruce played bass on that tune - the whole song's basically a bass solo. It's real good and not too too difficult.

Yeah , i was thinking of Stu Hamm's thing , but you already are aware. What about just throwing a bunch of cool stuff in a certain timeframe while touching on parts of "When you wish upon a Star"? That's about all i can come up with that might fit what you may be looking for.
