However, this article was entirley A-typical... please have a read and let me know what you thought of the article. (Don't worry, its not long). Hello, I'm from the UK. I have never hated Americans.

Only read half the article because I remember watching the news live on that day and to see people jump to their deaths, and to imagine having to ring a loved one because you know some idiot is going to crash the plane, doesn't bear thinking about, it upsets me terribly.

God bless you and US/UK

Well if the US are so worried about being hated, can you start to behave and give the same respect to other countries around you. I live in Mexico, and im a Brit, and ive seen the kind of hate the US has, and not the Government, the people....

Im sorry to say it but what happened on 9/11 was nothing compared to what the US has dished out to the rest of the world. Pearl Harbour was the only reason the US got involved in WW2, in the UK we had and still have a threat of the IRA, which i believe was actually funded by the USA. Can you imagine the fear of what happens when someone blows up a nailbomb? Either death or spend the rest of your life disfigured. Iraq, the biggest overblown war the world has ever seen, because it was utterly pointless. If you wanted to take out Saddam, you have Special Forces for that. Not throw your entire armed forces into a country that doesnt want to know, and make a spectacle of it. Shock and Aweing the world to show how much strength the US has. It doesnt show strength, it shows more and more cowardice towards the rest of the world. God bless your brave troops for doing what they did though.

And not all Brits hate you. The Government yes, the people no, only the ones who are ignorant and cant be bothered to find the answers. And answers that are unbiased at that. Do not be offended when people start abusing the US. It was born on the sense of freedom, but so far all it has shown is an arrogant dominance over the rest of us.

You are telling falsehoods sir - that article you supplied the link to - goes on forever - I'm not reading all that. Right ! Let me make you clear about a few things ! The reason why a lot of English people don't like Americans - is you are so ignorant ! When are you going to learn to write english properly. E.g. the word colour is spelt with a 'u' in it. Every word where Americans has changed the spelling is a word with letters omitted like the computer term program - where is the rest of the word - we don't like our language messed about with. And as for the twin towers fiasco - what I found interesting about that, was the row that NYPD had with the fire department because the police wanted to get gold out of the vaults after the disaster FIRST before letting the infurated firemen get to the bodies - even after all that carnage - the bottom line was MONEY ! The reason for Peal HarboUr (that has always intensely annoyed me that spelling) and the twin towers disaster was the same. Complacency, arrogance and a complete lack of understanding of lateral thought - have they not heard of David and Goliath - probably not a bit like Madonna hadn't heard of Enid Blyton. One day there is going to be a row between us and the americans - I just hope it is not in my lifetime - because it then will truely be like the book of revelations 'brother against brother' - the only thing the Americans do and do well is RISK - and that they are to be credited for e.g. THE BIG DIG in Boston - there is no way on Earth that mean old England would do something similar under Picadilly Circus - and it is not without need to do so - we just don't have the get up and go - it's not the money - look how much they're going to spend on replacing the trident nuclear deterrent - but having said that - the way the Americans pronounce the word vehicle - oh! please give me a break - there they actually ADD something i.e. asperating the h when it shouldn't be - they need to grow up - and as I've said before - I wish the film they made (and that is the irony) would come true - please land Clatu - we need Gort to save us from ourselves - well the Americans at least !

Total tabloid tosh the whole thing. Notice it was written in 2002. Perhaps he's calmed down since then, but that's hysterical reactionary nonsense. September 11th one of the greatest attrocities in history? er, no not really, one of the most spectacular maybe, but the amount killed was a fraction of things like the nazi holocaust, the battle of the somme, the killing fields of Cambodia, war in the Congo, etc, etc, etc,. I really could go on all day!
But leaving that small point aside, the writer has poison running through his pen. The notion that the Palestinians might have been bombed for celebrating 9/11 is horrendous.
The idea that liberals are full of hate and self-loathing is just ridiculous. It's not just liberals who were criticising the Bush administrations foreign policy, and since 2002 the sceptical viewpoint has became mainstream.

As I say, it's tabloid junk and if anyone thinks that means 'I hate America' I'd like to see them explain why, or else shut their fuc*king mouths.
I'm from the UK for the record.

Well, what an article! i especially liked where he said America could have made a chunk of the world into a parking lot and didn't, and this was a strength. The anti-Americans have had the loudest voices this far but the friends of America are the majority and maybe it's time to speak out and support them. Well done Sir for bringing it to our attention...God Bless America and the United Kingdom....I'm a uk citizen(Scotland) Thanks for being our friends USA....

Iv'e just read( Resortcaroline)and i didn't copy the part of her answer( for the record ) the part about the majority of voices so we have both been thinking the same way.....
CAN I JUST SAY I DON'T HATE YOUR GOVERNMENT...Please don't speak for me...the comment below...thank-you

Well first off, comparing the September 11 attacks to what Pol Pot and Hitler did is insane. Tragic yes but it was nowhere near what happened over there.

That said, the article did make some decent points.

My country of orgin is the United State of America and may God bless every single human being on this planet.

I am glad your our allies and Very proud, i get fed up with all this anti-american stuff too, but i think like i'v said before, these people are invisible...so therefore say these thing's, without really knowing what their talking about...and probably to "wind you up too".
The thing is us Brit's get it as well, from Europeans and American's too and probably for the same reason's.
At the end of the day UK/US do stick together and help each other out, and i would think that most people from either country would (even if they did'nt admit to it) not want anything less.

I disagree with most of the things in that article.

I guess the title set the precedent. Here at least, you don't have to be a liberal to hate America, I'd go so far as to say most anti-Americans are nowhere near liberal.

To attempt to justify Guantanamo bay is ridiculous, and with that statement he loses all credibility. Yes 9/11 was terrible, but that can never justify the torture and indefinite imprisonment of suspected terrorists. Why shouldn't the US give them a fair trial? If they are terrorists the trial with prove thus, if not let them go free. It's called justice, and America usually claims to have a fair justice system.

9/11 was either a tragedy or the ultimate coup - depending on where you stand...
Journalists have been dining out on it for years and will continue to do so by the look of it.
I was 17 years old and watching a horse whose legs had been blown off in the Hyde Park bombing, struggling to get to his feet . There were others too, writhing in pain and blood, many officers lying dead. If you have ever heard a horse screaming you will understand that It was a mercy when his officer shot him.
It devastated me.
I can never forgive the people of America who knowingly put their hands in their pockets and gave money to the IRA scum who planted that nail bomb under the bandstand. I find it impossible to sympathise (either way) with 9/11
We, in London, lived under the shadow of Terrorism for years (The Harrods bombing at Christmas etc. etc.) in the sure and certain knowledge that 'the cause' was being funded by our so-called allies over the pond.
I'm glad you know how it feels...but still your people and even your Government continue fund Terrorist activities in other countries - look now at the Palestinian war.
When the hell are you going to learn?

US Air Force!

I have been all over the world. Russia, China, Saudi, Turkey, Bahrain, Korea, Malaysia, Panama, Spain, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Poland, and a few other places. Despite what you see and hear or read in the media, Americans are loved the world over. Don't believe the hype. Every country that I have been in, the local people have welcomed me into their shops, stores, and sometimes homes. Other than their language, heritage, religious choices, and country they call home, they are just like Americans. In fact, walk around America and you find people that are in fact these people. Every one of them wanted the same thing that Americans want. To live their lives in peace, to be able to make a decent living and raise their family.

Loved the Article, thanks!

Americans only here the noisy minority, the silent majority are not represented by these mud people that would hug a terrorist and forgive him for killing their own babies. Most British people love all America stands for, most Brits would join the USA to stamp out mindless terrorists and their hatred of the un-believers. Bigots make the most noise and so we, the silent majority, are represented by them. Politicians pander to these noisy tree huggers, in the UK and in the USA. It's time for the couch potatoes to rise up and speak their minds, ignore the politically correct, shout it as they see it. I'm from Thailand and even here we have Muslims killing innocent people, like the three Buddhist monks a few months ago. With the worlds silent minority watching, like mind police, Thai officials have to give into the demands of the southern terrorists. Madness, created by those few that get to speak for us many.
