The it you are referring to is your child. How would you like it if someone referred to you as an it. A two day old baby will not sleep through the night. The baby still requires to be fed on demand or at least every two hours. You should be helping your wife out. Make sure your baby is swaddled tight, has a dry diaper, and is actually feeling the love from you and your wife. Enjoy your baby now, because some people can not even have children. Coming from experience, sleep when the baby sleeps

New born infants can only eat a small amount at a time so they need to eat every two hours. As far as sleeping all night that won't happen for several months and may take up to six months if the little one has their days and nights confused. Just be patient & try to help out your poor wife. She has the recent stress of delivery to deal with also and it takes alott out of you. She needs her rest! Enjoy your new little person! Happy Fatherhood!

It will take a while, but if you ever want a good night sleep you will have to have patience. First, find out if your baby likes a specific type of soft music that lulls the baby to sleep. Then find out if the baby is uncomfortable with his/her clothes or diapers, if they are, then experiment with different brands or materials. If these things don't work, then I suggest you go talk to a doctor.

You're married and have a baby, yet you still spell 'please' like 'plz'?
If you're telling the truth, which I don't think you are, you won't get a good, full night's sleep for a long time. It's just part of having a baby.

well, a baby cries for everything, it cries to communicate, this is the baby's way of talking.
And it really depends on how the baby cries, if it does not stop after you do everything you need to do, maybe the baby just needs attention, a baby is a human being nonethe less. and anyway, some babies cry more than others.

They don't sleep all night, usually. Get used to it. I used to carry my son up and down the hall for several minutes or sit in the rocking chair with him until he calmed down. If your baby sleeps more than 3 hours at a time, consider yourself lucky. It will get better in time. Welcome to fatherhood.
'nuff said?

Both of my kids loved to listen to running water. One night I put my daughters bed near the bathroom and left the faucet running...it worked!
