Ah a left over hippy.
The answere would be no the world would not be better as to many people would be wacked out. to do anything like clean up the garbage or bathe or even bother to think.
That was a misconseption that crept in . weed was used by the american indians that wanted to become shamen amd were having trouble getting into the right state of mind it was used as a key to unlock the spirit. and it was strickly controled be the tribes chief shaman. those that abused it were run not only out of the teachings but out of the tribe.

Different drugs have different effects on people. Some become so hooked and end up trying more dangerous drugs. As the saying goes " Too much of anything is bad". Though weeds may have some positive effects on some people it is possible that they have negative effects too. Just like guns, It can be used for protection but in the wrong hands it can be used for committing a crime.

No, because then the evil politicians who run things would really take over without anyone to control them and the world would be blown up or something equally nasty and the populace would be too stoned to care. Not exactly the ending I'd envisioned for the world.

I'd like to think so....but millions upon millions of people (some you would never guess) already smoke and the world isn't changing. No matter what the world will be filled with crazy assholes...not much you can do about it.

Yes, because if weed and all prescription drugs were OTC the crackpots would soon annihilate themselves and leave a clean world of healthy people.

no i've smoked weed and really in the end it messes you up. right now i'm workin as a ranch hand and i lose my breath a lot. not a good thing. so no people weed aint worth it.

It would certainly make it more peaceful, but soon the world would run out of food. Those with the munchies would mass consume, while farmers would be to mellow to work the fields.
