Women think that if they make you wait for it then you will be less likely to dump them because you have invested more in the relationship. When you get older you will find that more mature women do not play these games and you will be less likely to kick a girl to the curb after you have gotten what you want.

So far the answers seem to be centered on sex and not love. If you were talking about sex my answer will seem irrelevant.
Women need to feel secure for a lifelong commitment and today's young men are commitment phobic. The best relationship will take time to establish and the commitment will be thorough enough for the woman's trust and faith to be justified and vice-versa.
