Has anyone read "A Farewell to Arms"?

What is Lt. Henry seeking in the book?

Is he seeking happiness or love or something else? Does he find what he is looking for, and what is the climax or turning point of the book?

Though he's looking for love with the nurse Catherine, he really finds out what war and fighting are all about.

I believe the climax or turning point is when the Lt. abandons the Italian army.

What Lt. Henry is looking for is the meaning to his life. He needs a deeper reason for doing things than simply because someone tells him to. When he walks away from the army, he is, in effect, becoming a man.
