well, the bad news is that you might not be able to get rid of it without surgery. When bones mend, oftentimes they will form a small bump where the two pieces fused together. Sometimes this is just part of the healing process and will gradually get smaller as time goes on, but depending on what they had to do to mend your nose, it might be permanent. I would go back to your surgeon and ask if this is the case...and if it's something that you really hate, later on down the road it can probably be fixed by another surgery (to 'shave down' the bump). Again - I would talk to your surgeon about that. There's nothing at home that will reduce or get rid of the bump.

The bump is there because your nose didn't heal perfectly. The cartilage fused together in a new way after the break. The only way to get rid of it is surgery. Or, I suppose, to break your nose again in the exact opposite manner. The second time my mom broke her nose, it actually looked straighter.

Come to think of it, my dad took mom to the ER after she broke her nose the second time, and the doctor assumed that my dad was the one with the newly broken nose!

When you broke your nose, lots changed in there. That hump will probably be there unless you have cosmetic surgery. Ask the doctor who performed the surgery.

My greatuncle played semipro hockey back in the 40s and 50s ... in the days before helmets and facemasks.

His nose looked like the road map to some town in the middle of Alaska.
