Cimps may be closer to humans in terms of DNA, but orangutans are the most intelligent primates. Elephants and dolphins are also highly intelligent.

The second animal in the animal kingdom after humans is actually a little know creature that isolated pygmy tribes call "ickkaabookaboo," better recognized as the South American Aardvark.

Bonobo's (Pan paniscus)
We share 98% DNA with bonobo's and about 96% with chimpanzees
I believe bonobo's and chimps are more closely related to humans than gorilla's.
Monkeys are a wee bit further down the chain (a chimpanzee is not a monkey!)
