I have been diagnosed with a pulled muscle almost 2 weeks ago by an ER doctor. I have never experienced such pain. What did you do for it? I have tried both heat and cold. How long will this last? Any suggestions?

I got some Valium so that the muscles would loosen up and I could get some sleep and let my body heal. I don't know why your doctor didn't prescribe you something like that. Just be careful if you take medicine of that type because it really effects your judgment and decision making. It's like a subtle form of alcohol so you really need to be cautious and don't drive or make important decisions when you are under the influence.

I have had a pulled muscle and back spasms, but never for 2 weeks! I would try to relax and take hot baths, but also do some light, gentle stretching to try to stretch out the muscle again (go very easy though and try to stretch a little more each time, but stop if it hurts too much). Maybe you need to see another doctor...

If you can afford it, a back massage might be really good for you (maybe that's why I never had the problem for 2 weeks? I always get a massage if I have pain for more than one day). Just make sure you tell them you have a pulled muscle first, so they can tell you if a massage is right for you.

I have herniated discs in my back so I know the pain, heat helps a little as well as icy hot or some other muscle rub. Rest is the best and ibuprophen or a stronger pain medicine if your doctor prescribes it. They can also give you an injection for the pain ask your doctor.

Twice. Once whilst I used to be sixteen in the course of a pillow combat. Something snapped and my listening to grew to be staticky. The static got here again in the course of live shows for the following 10 years. The different time used to be whilst I used to be sixteen and a part warming up for an indoor monitor meet. I did my consistent complete break up exhibit off stretch however with out warming up the muscular tissues at ALL first. I used to be stoked for the occasion, the first meet of the season. I child you NOT whilst I let you know that I felt my proper quadricep pass BOI-YOI-YOING! and it tore badly. Since then, not more blue medals, not more complete splits. Yep! Kangaroos are evil however clever and lovable!

I was confined to the hospital for 3 days because of it.
I was given anti-inflammatory drugs. (NSAID) or non-steriodal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Rest to quell the swelling, hot packs would also help to loosen the muscles.

I usually lasts for a week and the pain would almost be gone.

When there is no more pain, u should exercise your back muscles and your core (abs)

I was playing around with my gf when suddenly I felt pain at my back. I think It also has something to do with my scoliosis. My gf felt so guilty, she gave me a massage everyday until it don't hurt no more. About 3 weeks after, we started playing around again.

the best thing is to rest and ice/heat 15 min each three or four times a day. It will get better but you have to rest it.
