many times and it was a long time ago...used to be very common to see hitch hikers...but with all the wackos out there if you got a lift today chances are you wouldn't be heard from again.

Ive done that many times when i was still living with my parents, in the suburbs of montréal. the public transportation system was rather crappy and there was no other way home. it wasnt so bad cause it was a small town so everyone knows someone in some ways.

but once i tryed it on the other way, to go to montréal. That was the worst experience. the guy got me a little freaked out and i ended up first place i could in montréal, and found a way to the subway with a bus. i never hichedhiked after that.

In my younger days, yes. Remember that was over 25 years ago, and I had at least three or four bad experiences with this as well as the good ones. ( A "good one" being defined as one where I get dropped off somewhere near where I wanted, otherwise uneventfully.)

I don't recommend it, and wouldn't want to do it again. I decided that a long time ago, and today it would be even scarier.

when I was a teenager I did ALOT. I was crazy! I never got hurt though,, but now looking back- OMG I'm amazed I survived!
