I'm a nationally certified Tennis Instructor, as well as a Mechanical Engineer, so I feel particularly well-suited to answer your question.
There are several lesser-known brands of tennis racquets that cost only $15 which are every bit as good as the more expensive well-known tennis racquets costing $80-$200.
Look for these lesser-known brands at your local Department Store.
There's actually no good reason to pay high prices. In truth, when you pay $200 for a tennis racquet, you are really just paying for the name.

find a racket that you like size ,grip feel weight..brand dosent really matter.what you really want to spend the money on is having a pro string your racket with a good string..proper stringing can make almost any racket play well...expect to pay 20-40$ for stringing

I used prince for about 12 years, my last one was M.Chang's long-body prince and i really loved it but some day i get angry just like safin and broke it.
Now i use Wilson, before i buy my new Wilson a hate the brand for some reasons but now i really enjoy playing with it.
