I think we understand the world pretty well. You need to be more specific on what issues.

lived in Wales once and I have never seen so many bigoted racists that were so introspective and culturally insular. They hated each other once and warred within their own principalities, the northern Welsh hate the southern and those in the middle of Wales hate both ends. The welsh hate all English. The sons of MG burn the houses of the English that live in Wales. The Welsh authorities openly practise racism, making laws to stop the English buying homes and settling in Wales. Their language is another example of their insular desires, a language that is useless outside Wales, unless you visit the Welsh of South America, a group of settlers that went there hundreds of years ago, but still speak Welsh, which to my mind sums up their separatist and insular ethos. I generalise, but with intellect and facts. Americans are interesting and culturally integrated, they are also brave enough to do something about terrorists, whilst the rest of the world hide their heads in the sand. When terrorism effects you directly, you will be the first one to yell towards the USA for help, just like all the other noisy minorities. The silent majority are not represented by these left wing, tree hugging, mud people, people that would allow their countries to be controlled and dictated to by terrorists and extremist's.

Naive??? Piss off... We Americans know more about the world then the BBC would like to believe we do. Most Americans know exactly whats going on in the world, which is precisely why we are over in the middle east wiping terrorists off the face of the planet. On a similar note, I came across this article from one of your traditionally anti-American newspapers (the Mirror). However, this particular article reads much different than the typically closed minded dribble associated with that newspaper. I wish everyone had to read this...

Reading some of these answers makes me wonder why there aren't more wars in the world. Mention any ones country or culture in slightly critical tones and you are all at each others throats. Cant we just accept that we are all different. Not just country by country but individually too. Most of the information that we receive in any country is governed by the media and whoever influences it. Thank God for the Internet. Keep talking to each other. Stop the "country bashing" and generalisations. What is an "American" anyway ? I am Scottish and British but my attitudes and opinions probably differ in many ways from others in my street never mind my country

You have to understand that Americans are so sheltered-They know what's goin on but are just blinded by the government-they're like drones in those SCI-FI movies where whatever their leader tells them is good! This is one reason why I think they're so afraid of immigrants comin into their country........They dislike any thing that's not American.
Besides Americans think their laws are universal-they want the world to bow to them. I'm not anti-American by all means no! I went to College there and my best friend is an American. But I agree with u when u say that they are Naive!

Carefull, I got a violation notice for having a pop at the American's.
200yrs and still no sign of developing a sense of humour.
Still, I think there are plenty that see whats going on, its just we only get to see the idiots because they make such good news coverage.
Just read some of the other answers. See, these people are shouting the loudest and what impression do they give of the average american, They really do themselves no favours sometimes.

We do see we see that women and children are sold for sex because of countries poverty. We see radical religions trying to impose there beliefs on America. Because someone has taught them from birth that Americans are evil. We see that as a country we are hated for our way of life. We see that if someone needs us we are there, we see that we have compassion as a country for others. If only the truth was what others could see instead of some crap. What is your point ? We are grown up we just are not unhappy with our live and unable to do anything about like you we already fought that war and won. Freedom

First of all, that's highly overgeneralized. Second of all, many Americans are easily swayed by misconceptions and the media. They think Africans live in huts made of mud, or something. They also don't travel much and have very stubborn ideas about somethings. But that is not the viewpoint of every America, so don't overgeneralize.
