yep let it cool down the display will go back to normal
i do it with a calculator all the time
the display is liquid crystal it gets hot and turns the display black

First you should turn it on and see if it works. If it does, then yes, it will work again. If it doesn't then maybe it will work again - take it to your service providers nearest retail outlet and get them to help, odds are the cell phone people, know cell phones - and with temperatures soaring around the USA and the world, have encountered a lot of "Hot Phones"

this is a common issue and normally it will work again, but leaving a cell phone in a hot car is certainly hell on a battery! I would not do that anymore. And if it doesn't work, well then I hope you carry insurance on the phone, that's considered damage that you have caused and is not covered under the manufacturers warranty.

should unless it got so hot something melted, try it and see, if not take it to your cell phone provider, if its a good company, they'll give you another one

Put your phone in your pocket and go call yourself from a payphone. Then you'll know.
