Pimp my ride.....do they fix the engines on the junk cars they bring in?

The cars go out looking all "pimped out" but they never mention whether or not they will run for another month.

I would assume so but you are right they never show the engine!!
I remember that on episode where the guys car was so bad that they bought a new, i think it was a SUV or something, one!!

Most of the cars that they Pimp are cool but I much rather Overhaulin, you get a good looking car and one with a new engine!!

they usually fix the engine, the body and the interior; because the want the car looking and sounding good. why would they just want to fix the apperance and leave it running like it did when it went in there. remember that honda civic crx that went in there and the kid had a blader problem. they put a new engine in. and the other one where they put all new accessories on hi motor. then there was that other car that they put that super charger on. does that help.

Im not to sure i dont watch it i watch overhaulin but i watched a VW bug on pimp my ride and they totally redid the engine they put like a 2100CC engine in it if i remember correctaly but still im not to sure.

they change the oil... but I saw one where Xibit blew an engine on the way to the shop on an old suburban. They put a crate engine in. But as for the engine they do nothing but change the oil, atleast they use synthetic.

I'm pretty sure they maintain those things in the process while keeping the original engine. They have to shoot the "after" shots too.

Usually it's cars that are visiably unappealing...cause it's quicker and cheaper for that body make over than a mechanical one
