the 3 books dan brown stole from that predated his work by 20 years were better:

Da Vinci Legacy and Daughter of God (both by Lewis Perdue)
Holy Blood, Holy Grail (by Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, Henry Lincoln)

Dan Brown is a hack and got away with plagiarism, don't give him any more money!

Everybody thinks Dan Brown is guilty of plagiarism just because he wrote about an IDEA that had been brought up previously. Is every book about vampires plagiarism just because Bram Stoker wrote about them first? Absolute ignorance! He takes ideas and forms a FICTIONAL book around them.

In answer to your question, I liked Angels & Demons a lot better than Da Vinci Code, but both were excellent books. Da Vinci Code only got more popular due to the controversy, but Angels & Demons seemed more plausible to me, and I just couldn't put the book down. Plus, I'm Italian and I liked reading about them cruising around Italy a lot more than France. Damn ungrateful French hate America for no reason...all we did was liberate them from Germany. Twice.

I enjoyed "Angels and Demons" more than I did "The Da Vinci Code." I've been a Christian-Pagan for many years, so none of the ideas in the "Da Vinci Code" were that surprising to me. "Angels and Demons" was "darker" and had a more exciting plot.

I loved the Da Vinci Code. I read it first then, Angels & Demons. I enjoyed A & D better.

Both books were really fantastic but since you want a choice between the two I would have to go with The DaVinci Code. I think it was much more detailed and suspenseful!

Wow, tough choice. On solemn reflection I'd have to choose the phone book. It's just better written, better characterisation, better plot, better story-line. It's just better - and wait until you get to the "Zs". Talk about a surprise ending!

Angels and Demons by far.

However, they are very similar.

Let me know what you decide and, ultimately, what you think.

Ok, the ending of DVC was goofy. I liked A and D better just for the sheer goofiness factor of DVC.
