I had a painful vaginal ultrasound at 8 weeks pregnancy. It was very painful though. I was wondering why. I asked the ultrasonographer if everything was fine and she said yes.

I had one at 7 weeks. Your cervix could be very tender and maybe it hurt a lil all the movement around up there. It's already a uncomfortable situation on top of having pain. Just be glad that your baby is healthy and you won't have to have another hopefully. Good Luck and Congrats!

Through 3 pregnancies, the only vaginal ultrasound I had was AFTER my 3rd child was born, when the doctor was worried I might have endometriosis. I wasn't pregnant, but it was not exactly what I'd call a fun or painless experiance, either.

There's not much call for a vaginal ultrasound these days for a routine pregnancy.

Several questions come to mind. How far along are you now? Have you had any kind of pain like this before? Did you contact your OB-Gyn after the sonogram to report the pain? It shouldn't have been any more painful than a pelvic exam. I would suggest that you mention it at your next appointment with your doctor.

I am 8 weeks! I agree that it can be painful as well. It is because our uterus is soft right now. As well if they are trying to make sure your ovaries are OK that can be as well because they should be up further than normal! You are fine Hun. Just try to relax as well when they do it sometimes that helps as well! CONGRATS!
