Is aliens the greatest film ever made?

Well Brit Chick Aliens is a really good movie i remember going to see it as a kid of 13-14 and just having my chin on the floor within the first hour.
The Alien series is in my top 10 movies of all time and here they are..........
1 Star Wars - A brilliant story of the rise and fall and rise again of Anakin Skywalker
2 The Lord of the Rings - monster epic
3 Alien - the whole story is fantastic
4 The Matrix - only at 4 because of the 2 sequels to many effects and not enough of the story
5 Fight Club - hey i'm a guy,all guys like this film
6 Star Trek - cool as......
7 As good as it gets
8 The Usual Suspects - the best ending ever
9 James Bond - good old fashioned british movies
10 Superman the movie

I guess they won't make anything like that again, part of it's success is that there were no films like that when it came out, now, people are used to suspense, and the whole electrifying thing in movies, so its a lot harder to impress people and get the reaction aliens got
BUT its definitely NOT the best NOT EVEN CLOSE

Alien was and still is a great film taking into account its age now ! although I must admit the quality did tail off after Aliens any film that is of a similar genre eg: species etc still use lots of the gimmicks used over 20 years ago in the original Alien film So yes it was an truly great film and even now still looks good and is great 2 watch .........................Glad you like it its truly a milestone film of its genre

Yes I think it was ONE of the best ever made, because of its story line, it had some many Aliens in it. and if you seen the uncut one thats even better, because it tell what happens to Riplys kid :(

for me the 3rd was sad because of the little girl, and the 4th was really cool, (ie: Hey I thought you where dead?...yea I keep hearing that) I love that line lol.....

But my big questions is this, will they make a #5, becasue there not all dead yet, the ship is still on LV429........

PS.. I had a story line for that one hehehe

I thought "Alien (1979)," the first installment of the 4-part series was the best.

I don't count "Alien Versus Predator" as part of the series because Sigourney Weaver is not in it; only Aliens.

I saw the movie at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, in "Sensaround," in 1979.

My date was cowering in my lap within 10 minutes.

The John Hurt scene, with the alien popping out of his stomache is classic!

I thought the first one was excellent. The sequels seemed too corny and lacked the luster of the original.
