Click Start , select Run , type msconfig and hit Enter . You should see a new window that has opened . Go to the Startup tab on that new windows and unselect all the services you don't need. Click ok and reboot. It should just work fine now . If you don't know what services do disable just type them on www.google.com and you should get a detailed description on each and everyone of those services ;)

try booting into safe mode and see if it boots all the way there. If it does, then shut down the computer properly and reboot.
You can access safe mode during startup by continuosly pressing F8.

shut down computer, insert CD recovery disc and reboot. Take a look at the hard drive...see if it is readable. Use norton and analyze for virus..this is not normal. If all is ok, reload OS with disk and start again. Good luck

Another possible thing that may make it appear as if your computer is "loading" is that it is doing a Virus Scan and\or Spyware scan.
I suggest you check those programs to see if they're set to scan on boot-up or at a particular time.........
