A lot of the soldiers fighting in Iraq are Muslims. They are Iraqi citizens in the Iraqi Army.
I'm sure that any American soldiers that happen to be Muslim are there to make a stand against the Islam-o-Fascists just as their brothers in the Iraqi Army are.

Those who disagree in conscience can apply to be classified as conscientious objectors, relieved of duty, and continue to live as American citizens.
Did you know that, despite having considered application for conscientious objector status, WWI American army Sgt. Alvin York was later awarded the Medal of Honor? He singlehandedly attacked a German machine gun, killed 35 German soldiers and captured 132 more, along with 35 German machine guns. He did this with a bolt-action Springfield rifle. There was a muslim soldier killed last week in Iraq, he was British. I can only say he stood by what he thought was right regardless of religion.

I am not qualified to answer your question - however, I am sure no soldier actually "likes" to fight.
I can also say, a true islam will admit that extreme muslim groups are wrong and must be stopped.
