l would definitely give up my life without a second thought for my children or my parents...after that it would have to be a decision made in the heat of the moment.

I guess their specific need would or could dictate what you'd need to give up and then you'd have to decide if you were willing to give whatever it is. I give of my time and energy now working in a soup kitchen, helping out my neighbor with baby sitting and other things that come up along the way. I've given money when needed. I've given money that I needed for something else without knowing how I would replace it. I guess, so far, I've never been called to give up something huge, like my life or my child or something big like that and I don't think anyone can really answer about those things until they're actually faced with a situation.

No. Without further context, there is nothing else I can say. Perhaps there is some circumstance in which I would be willing to end my existence to prolong someone else's, but I don't know what it could possibly be. There are things I need to do.

What makes you think helping someone is about giving up something? You help people who need to be helped because your heart tells you to do so.

Needs are twisted things. A wife or girlfriend "needs" your attention. However this is more of a desire, a want. Yet many people place this "need" above responsibilities to society. (dont get me wrong, I'm one of those people). Whats more important? society or the individual...?

I Would give up my time, i would give up almost any material possesion i have as i no longer love "things" AS they do not love me back,
I would give up an opportunity, i wanted, if i knew of them needing it worse,
I Would give an organ if it could save them,

What would I give? I would give my time to understand. An Ear to listen... My arms to hold them... My legs...to help carry...and my support. (p.s I belonged to many organizations)
