you probably could get away with nuking them a few times before they would break. Dishwasher may be ok but is it worth the risk.

I dont have China except for the Paperplates brand and I always throw those away no second use out of them. If I had china, I would decorate with them on a table or in a hutch, after I handwashed the set.

No!!!!! If dishes are microwave safe, they are, by law, marked as such on the bottom. As for dishwasher safe, they more than likely are, but I would just try one to see how it goes, before I put the whole bunch in.
