Well, I think it is a good thing that he was arested without killing anybody in that Lexus of his.

It's a tentatively good thing. He might stop drinking and driving now, and we all would benefit from that.

Drunk drivers always put innocent lives at risk but with Mel Gibson's fame and money you would think that he could just throw some cash at the charges and they will go away. Martha Stewart didn't walk, neither did Ken Lay(he had to die) or Jeffrey Skilling. Society is sick and tired of watching the rich and powerful get away with everything while the rest of us pay the price. The report I read says that they are still deciding if they are going to level charges against Mel Gibson. I say they should give him everything he deserves!

It"s never a good thing when someone is arrested , it"s embarrassing and if you"re a celebrity they put it all over the press! If Mel was drunk he needed to go to jail! What is up with all the celebs and DUI"S. All the money they have, take your limo home and save some lives!!!

I've always liked Mel Gibson as an actor.....beautiful blues eyes and a cute butt. But when it's all said and done, he's just another person just like the rest of us and he screwed-up.....just like the rest of us. I've never gotten a DUI and I certainly am not saying it's a good thing but bad things happen to all people who do bad things!

DUI is a very serious offense...it's a good thing that police take it so seriously as to arrest people who partake.

Rehab, however, and education about the devastating effects of DUI can work wonders, and it doesn't mean that someone is a bad person because they are unable to control their alcohol intake. Help is necessary.

A wonderful thing! AA will grab another victim to punish. The now bent "program" mandating and coercing to it's own demise. Give the sob (and Nick Nolte if guilty) a heavy prison sentence. Hard labor followed by mandatory, daily gay and lesbian AA meetings with that doorknob god who provides the only way to keep sober. Or no prison, but 8 hours of daily Alanon or women's AA meetings would be better punishment for the "godly saint" that he is. Some good ol' Jeeezuz Saves tent revivals wud be appropriate! Salvation Army runs a tough Jesus-In-Charge AA long-term diversion resident program in Reno.

If someone does bad things that will endanger the well being of the society, it doesn't matter if he's Mel Gibson or some random kid that no one knows about, he/she is responsible. I don't understand why a lot of people make a big fuzz about celebrity, they just make a lot more money than most of us and live in big houses, other than that, what's the difference.

Well, I don't ever think it is a good thing for anyone to get arrested. He is a human being like anyone else, except that he is famous. He may be having personal problems, who knows? He will maybe stop the drugs after this, for his sake, I hope so.
