What's your biggest pet peeve that they always do in movies, that completely ruins the movie for you?

I'll tell you mine after I get a few responses...

I mean in the actual movie, what do filmmakers always do that irritates the crap out of you?

Though I agree with a lot of your answers so far, mine is kind of obscure. I hate it when they make a movie set in a foreign country, and they make the actors speak English with British accents for no reason. Like in "Les Miserables" (with Liam Neeson and Uma Thurman), it's set in France. So, if you don't want to do the film in French, fine, okay, understandable since it's for an English-speaking audience. But don't make your Irish/Australian/American actors all speak English with a British accent, like that's supposed to trick us into thinking it's really foreign or something! It's like they're completely underestimating their audience. I got it, it's supposed to be France, I can get past the American accents...

(unless it's supposed to be set in England, obviously)

A man and a woman have a fight.

MAN: Whoore!

WOMAN: Bastard!

MAN: Sluut!

WOMAN: Diick!

MAN: Tramp!

She slaps him. He slaps her. Suddenly they are kissing each other and having hot, vigorous sex.

IT DON'T WORK LIKE THAT!

In action and/or fantasy movies, there's always that one guy who, as he's killed, screams like a woman. (Star Wars, War of the Worlds, and Lord of the Rings are a few examples) It doesn't completely ruin the movie for me, but it's irritating, and then I spend the rest of the time wondering if men actually do scream like that in real life.
And it pisses me off when the trailer is better than the actual movie.

The near misses when people are trying to find each other, constantly screaming girls, guns they never have to reload, and that whole get beat up to near death by one guy then someone says some sappy crap and all of a sudden the character is Superman and takes on 40 guys.

I no longer watch horror movies because I am so tired of people splitting up when the murdering beast dude is on the prowl. That and the guys and girls start to make out when ever they are alone and one fo the friends has been killed in particularly gruesome way.

That or explosions in space.

Bad writing with no creativity or imagination. Using profanity is just a cover-up for nothing to say. Using stereotypes for any race or gender is just a cover-up for not having a clue about the wonderful diversity of our world. Using the same story lines over and over is just a cover-up for having no life experience. And writing teen sex flicks is just a cover-up for ignorance.

Every one always looks so perfect when they supposedly just got out of bed and on the same note, everyone in movies seems to wear silk PJ's....I want movies to be real...messy hair, smudged make up and an old t-shirt and snoopy undies when the chick wakes up.

I totally get you - i love watching a good "suspense, mystery" type movie but, anymore all the clues are right there in the first half hour of the movie to tell you, maybe not all, but pretty much the "who done it" of the story.

I can't say that it ruins the movie for me but I hate the fact that they show like 20mins of commercials !!! Not just previews, cause those I like to see so I know what's gonna be showing soon but commercials! If we wanted to see the latest and greatest new car or men's cologne, we'd stay home and eat microwave popcorn!

I hate when a character says something, but because of the way it's pronounced or delivered, you don't know what they said. It's harder to follow the story or get all the connections when it happens.

Talamaskaa, who said obvious foreshadowing, that is a good one too.
