I'm using the sidekick 2 outside the united states, when it powers on, it will ask for a "SPECIAL CODE TO ENABLE SIM".

try resetting it....or call t-mobile..they will help you for free..dial 611 from your sk

Go on ebay and buy yourself an unlocking service. It won't cost you much and it is done remotely. If you have email they can send you the codes to unlock it. You must have a working GSM sim card to unlock or this process will not work. But like the previous post said, if you have had the account for 90 days call up customer service. Can't beat "free!".

If you had an account with T Mobile for more than 90 days. All you have to do is call up T Mobile customer support and they will help you UNLOCK it over the phone for free.

call tmobile cuz they proved the launch codes for u, i offered a tmobile razr as quickly as I have been given cingular and that they gave it to me and it worked yet the two way i gave the fone away yet im no longer so specific bout sidkicks cuz ive heard tmobile doesnt aloow sidekicks for unlocking

what do u mean unlock it? did the screen lock?
if it did, then you just hit the upper left hand button and the lower right hand corner button simultaneously.
