Allow her to work? What? What planet are you from? Are you a caveman? A control freak? What in the heck did your parents teach you about women and relationships? Not anything good by this question.

Women are humans/people too and have minds of their own to make their OWN decisions. IF they want to work, then they do. IF they don't want to work, then they don't. In this day and age, it takes TWO incomes to make it, considering the price of cars, homes, food, childcare, clothes, etc, etc. Slavery was outlawed many, many years ago. Saying that a woman isn't 'allowed' to work is treating them as slaves!! What are you wanting to do, bring slavery back? If you want a woman that won't work because you say so, then go to another country and find one to marry there, such as in Saudi Arabia or somewhere like that. IF you want a woman that will love, respect, and cherish you and be there for you and take care of you and your kids, then look for one here in the USA. But DON'T say that a woman isn't 'allowed' to work or do other things or else you will push her away and you will be in a divorce faster than it can make your head spin.

Dude, what country and what time do you live in? If you live in 21st sentury, you might reconsider the way you're posing the question. I mean, should a wife allow a husbant to work outside the home? Sounds a bit ridiculous... What if she is a CEO and he's no-big-deal kind of guy? Sounds different now?

As for a question would it be better for a family in the long run if one of the spouses didn't have a job outside of home - this is something the spouses should consider together.

Your joking right? What country do you originate from? Allow being the operative word..I think you asked this just to get a rise out of a few people....If your wife...if you have one.....decides to work "out of the home" where do you come in deciding whether that should happen or not....You are not a chauvinist by any chance ...are you?

Frankly, young man...I believe that you need to look at a relationship as a partnership....no man, if indeed he is a man, has the right to "allow" or "disallow" their wife to work outside the house.

This is the modern era and such antiquated thinking such as this is totally out-dated and out of the question. Many women work outside the home and it is a totally acceptable practice. It takes two checks to make it in society today......

Men don't "allow" their wives to do anything. Marriage is a partnership.

Only if the income exceeds the cost of having the job.

Yes, having a job costs money -- gasoline, wear and tear on car, putting the kids into daycare, lunch, clothes appropriate to the job.

the biggest problem with this question is "allow", being a husband is not a slave owner. She should be inclined to do whatever she wants as far as employment, and you should encourage her in her steps.

interesting choice of words. 'allowing' her would mean that she needs your permission and that is absolutely OUT OF THE QUESTION!!!!whether or not she SHOULD is between the 2 of you. if you tell her what she can and can not do then please tell her to call me because i have a little advice for her on how to leave your controlling ***!!!!
