not "Why are we here?", not "Where did humans orginate from?", not "What is the purpose of humanity?" The question is; Why are there people?

And why wouldn't there be? There are people for the same reason there are flowers and dogs. Do you think the flower or the dog ask themselves: "Why are there flowers?" and " Why are there dogs?" ...ey..they might, in their own way... Who knows !!!
There might no be an exact answer to your question, just go ahead... and enjoy them... the dog, the flower... and people !!!

To me, the word people is used to differentiate between humans and other animals. Non-human animals are considered lesser beings, so they don't get to be called people.

But I don't think you were asking about semantics...

Because we are the top of the species. If people weren't here, and it was all about wildlife --- you would not be sitting at your computer right now asking questions. We (mostly) are intelligent beings. The plan for us was to improve and we have. Well.....there are some who have chosen not to.

May be so we can destroy the world and regenerate it a better specie, or to keep balance in the circle of life. Since we are the no. one creature to consume from every product.
