I agree! I asked a question about why baseball fans and sportswriters constantly refer to baseball players as "the world's greatest athletes". Out of 10 answers only 2 made any sense (they didn't read the reasons I gave for doubting that dubious claim). Needless to say, but I'm still not convinced. Its boring, the season's too long, MLB is SOOOOO dumb they put Barry Bonds up as their posterboy, its fixed (I accurately picked the White Sox and Astros to meet in the World Series, with the White Sox winning without paying attention to the MLB playoffs). The only smart player, I think, is Jose Canseco.

Baseball is actually not dumb. Most baseball players who make it to the major leagues are there because they are very smart. Baseball is one of the hardest sports because it requires mental and physical strength. You have to be very aware and know where to go, when to go there. There are so many mechanics for every aspect of the game and you need to be very intelligent to pick up on them. Baseball was made for smart people and athletes.

Every sport is "dumb" at some level, if you really want to analyze them. But, what is your point? Baseball can be slow, but I've always regarded it almost as the "theatre of what can happen" on any given pitch or at-bat. When you're really into the game - as I am - it's terrific.

its the slowest sport ever. it takes the pitcher 20 minutes just to pitch the damn ball cuz hes too busy with his. then he ends up throwing the ball and its a ball. then repeat like a 100 times a game each side and thats the sport of baseball. isnt it one of few sports that u have the ball on defense?

u call it dumb because u dont understand the game....to be honest i thought the same about soccer, then when my kids starting playing it and as they got older i learned to respect the game.......
