I just moved to Memphis from Dallas and its ok here. There are things to do in Memphis - some decent shopping, Tunica is close, Beale street is ok (kinda ghetto though). This would be a nice place to take a trip - there is Mudd Island to visit, Staxx museum, Sun Studios to tour, Graceland, Dixon Gardens.
As for the people, its like everywhere else - some are nice, some are not. The crime rate is very high in Memphis, and you need to be careful of certain areas. The drivers are the worst I have ever seen. They are rude and "out for blood".

I want be in Memphis until September 16 that would the Heritage Classic Football, But I hear Bills Street is Fantastic PARTY PARTY PARTY and the BLUES. Hey you should GO sometime soon.

I've been there several times, its pretty cool... the people are okay eventhough some of them are gangstas and wanna be thugs and drug dealers.
but other than those handfull of people they are nice.
oh and it has a huge music background.
