ok well... When doing the kick ... you keep your knees together, and your ankles... NO FLUTTER KICKS!!! next you move your legs up and down... like a dolphin's tail does. When combining the kick with butterfly it will always be: armskick! armsbreathekick! in other words... your kick should be in the motion after your arms... Look at how a dolphin swims. This will help then imagine the arms before and after each single kick. If you use fins this will help a lot... good luck!

Honestly, either pretend like you're playing with a hoolahoop in the water or doing the ol' nasty. Either way, you need to do a motion that gets your whole body doing that dolphin motion. It's like a whip, starting all the way up at your chest and the powerful snap is at your feet. Just start it off really slow, and practice that whole body motion (with your arms reaching in front of you, but not streamline).

Then, practice on a kickboard, and then incorporate the arms, which is a whole different beast right there. I suggest getting the whole body dolphin motion down first before even thinking about the arms.

Hum, As a kid when you acted llike a Mermaid and you would put things to keep your legs togather. it's alot like that. you kick like a mermaid would. As for the arms it's like you outline a light bulb a big light bulb. you kick when you hands are above your head and when your hands are about to leave the by your side!!!

for me, i didn't get it at first to do a butterfly. but its like wiggling actually. move your chin in a circular motion with your body. sort of like dancing. that's the movement part. for the arms, it's the difficult part. you need strength, so i suggest lifting weights. you want everything to be in motion, so when you're above the water, your lower body should be below the water, including your feet.
