Well, from your statement(s), I assume that IF they were wearing underware, it would be assumed they were straight??? I am at a loss as to what the "underwear" thing has to do with anything. What do you consider "underwear?" I am positive that all wear a jock strap with a cup...how much more "Iron Clad" can you get?? *** slapping is ... comradery? Who knows, who cares. IF you cannot watch a football game because of this, you have a very real problem called homophobia, and it is very unreasonable. Given the popularity of football (not with Gays, I can assure you), I think you are by far in the minority here. I think you are finding offense wherever you can seek it. Get some help, man...you have gone overboard here.

Probably because this behaviour predates social consciousness of gay culture. IE guys have been doing this as long as football has been a sport and long before people even considered gays normal human beings. They were thought to be deviants and mentally ill. They didn't have a culture and had to be treated for this disease. "Normal" people didn't worry about members of the same sex being attracted to them and so sexual overtones of certain situations weren't even considered. It was just the guys having fun.

I played football in high school and "fooled around" with 3 of the guys on the team. I am a little biased on the subject. The guys that did that on my team all had a run in or two if you know what I mean.

LMAO sorry i shouldn't laugh. i never thought of it that way. Now i have to start watching football. And i am sure it is still "masculine" to watch football after all they are still beating the hell out of each other and running around sweating throwing a ball from one end of a field to the other.
hmmm on second thought i don't think i will watch. But you are safe to. And just tell your buddy that it makes you uncomfortable and to please stop saying that stuff to you.
Again sorry for laughing... kinda ;-P

Footballs players are looked up to by many, they could never get a bad reputation by what they do. I agree, it looks wrong.

It is a natural gay release for them without having to admit to gayness.

The reason it's not gay is...they slap each other there (on the butt) because it's the only place without pads. If they slapped on the back or shoulder, they wouldn't feel it.

That's a good question. I have thought of that myself. Maybe there is a lot more going on behind the scenes then we think.
