after you go to the bathroom and wipe you may notice your CM (cervical mucus) on the toilet paper.

If it is clear and has the consistency of egg whites, it indicates you are at the peak in your cycle where you are ovulating.

Good luck! (assuming you are trying to get pregnant...and if you are not trying to get pregnant, don't go by this obviously!!! it's not fail proof! )

Serena family planning has a plan for using a thermometer in the vagina before you get out of bed in the morning and plotting the temperature. This plan shows when your period is and when you ovulate, your temperature spikes by a minute amount. The consistency of the mucous is also checked at the same time and confirms the raise in temperature to be related to ovulation and not fever. The mucous in the vagina turns serous (more fluid) at ovulation and is more viscous (able to string between fingers) at other times. Get in touch with Serena people in your area and they will tell you more.

I really hope you're not trying to track your ovulation cycle so that you can become pregnant because if you're not willing to shell out the money for a doctor's visit and an ovulation test, you won't be able to afford a pregnancy.

The best way is to go to your doctor, but like another commenter said...it's usually about 2 weeks after the first day (I believe) of your period. If you go to http://www.yourdays.com/ you can actually make a general calendar to determine when you are ovulating.
