Before we moved in together he was paying $400/month but she'd reimburse him $100. Then she said she didn't want anything. Now, 3 years later she wants all the back-pay and $600/month which I'm sure she won't be entitled to that much with what he makes. She owns a bar and a restaurant; makes lots of money and is planning on marrying her millionaire boyfriend that used to be her boss and thus les to her split-up with my bf. They live in luxury (just built another huge house and go on exotic vacations) while we rent a place and do not go on vacations. His kids have everything imaginable while I struggle to provide my daughter with things to "keep up" in today's world. My b/f says he'll have to sell the dog and get a small apartment to pay her. He'll still have the same bills without me and even if we get a 2-bedroom together he'll only be ahead by about $100 to give his ex by the time we split all costs.

I am sick and tired of hearing about this!! It's majorly stressing me out. His ex, the B*tch doesnt need any more money! It's just gonna sit in the stupid bank rotting away while we struggle to live. I swear if I see her anywhere, someone better restrain me before I go balistic on her ***!
The laws about paying child supoort are great... but they shoudl take into consideration what might happen because of it. This woman is dating a millionaire, she owns a bar and a restaurant, her kids are spoiled brats! I go to school with them both, I should know! While we struggle paycheck-to-paycheck!!! It's so hard.

oo just for the rest of you, if you dont know, Im the daughter of the person asking the question!

Your BF is stuck in an old story--Its not about money, its not about the kids, its about revenge. If she has that kind of money then and her attorney know they can play the system.

The system is undeniably against fathers. Your BF needs to petition the courts for modification based on what hes making now. The percentages for every state are avaliable online and he neds to keep fighting until its reasonable. THis is a perfet example fo why the child support laws in this country need to be more realistic.

Im not quite sure of your question.
Was it.. "why do people bug you about your boyfriends child support that he has for whatever reason stopped paying?"

Well..whether or not his ex decided she didnt want the $$$ is immaterial..the child or children are his and he owes it to the children. Millionaire new hubby or not! The kids belong to your now boyfriend.

Maybe your friends/family are lecturing you because they feel any man who does not continue with his responsibilities may not be trustworthy with a lady's heart.

Just a thought!
