Are social worker jobs plentiful? I hear yes they are, and I also hear no they arent? Is it worth pursuing?

I would pursue it if you believe it to be your "passion" in life for a career. In other words, if you KNOW - not BELIEVE, but KNOW - that you can make a difference in people's lives.

But be warned, that many good people with the best of intentions get "burned out" quickly due to the workings within "the system", and having to deal with too many people who want something for nothing.

You really have to have a passion for this line of work.
You deal with children who have been taken away from their parents for doing wrongful things. You deal with their parents and courtroom sessions on behalf of the child. You also have in house reviews with the foster parents and foster child.. Rewardin yet hear breaking at the same time. Can you handle it ask, yourself.
